A big table on Trinity Street

An Italian cafe and restaurant in Coventry city centre, and what 1,194 reviewers say about it.

Cafe Italia is a cafe and restaurant at 9-11 Trinity Street, in the middle of Coventry city centre, across from Holy Trinity Church and a couple of minutes from the cathedral.

It is open from 8am to 8pm every day, so it does breakfast, lunch and dinner: big breakfasts in the morning, then lasagne, pizza and pasta, with coffee, cakes and hot chocolate all day. Eat in, take away, or order delivery.

Out of 1,194 Google reviews, 25 mention the portion size, 24 the pizza and 22 the lasagne. Seven call it cosy, five mention halal options and four the outdoor seating, at big wooden tables on Trinity Street.

The staff come up again and again. Leila Cohen says they “couldn’t be more accommodating”; Mrs Armada calls the service excellent and the staff very friendly. Ant has been coming with a partner “for a good while now” and calls the service quick and efficient.

And people come back from out of town. Emanuela Bozhinova doesn’t live in Coventry, but ate here both times she visited in a month. Her one warning: “Its very hard to get a table as its always busy.”
